Formula Ford Graduates
Graduate Andrew Wilson Name: Andrew Wilson
Andrew attended the Formula Ford Course for his 21st Birthday after his father planned the big surprise. After completing a stint on the Oran Park circuit and then pulling in to pit, Andrew was asked for his reaction. "Awesome ! Excellent !" were amongst some of the words he used to describe his experience. "My favourite part of the circuit was going over the rise into the blind corner along the back end of the track."

Andrew loved the handling of the Formula Fords and in particular he liked the fact that they have no noticeable body roll. "I feel that Peter Finlay has got a good set up here, in allowing people to experience the thrill of driving a real race car. It's very worthwhile."

Graduate Ben Eggleston Name: Ben Eggleston
Ben attended the Racing Drivers' Course over the last couple of days and was now attending the Formula Ford Course in his own vehicle to learn techniques pertaining to this formula.

"It was a chance to learn from the vast collective experience offered by experienced instructors who also currently race in various open wheel categories."

Graduate Tim Dash Name: Tim Dash
Tim was another student who had attended the Racing Drivers' Course held over the last two days. He attended the Formula Ford Course because he wanted to learn about open-wheeler race cars and ultimately wants to get involved in racing Historic Formula Fords.

Tim was overly impressed with the cars' handling and braking abilities and he enjoyed driving a real race car.

Graduate Scott Ferguson Name: Scott Ferguson
Scott's wife thought it would be a great surprise to give him a Formula Ford experience. Judging by Scott's reaction after pulling into the pits, Mrs Ferguson was right on the money. Scott thoroughly enjoyed himself and says that he plans to return for another day on the track. He thought that the course was well organised and he was extremely pleased with the total experience.
Trevor and father Name: Trevor Stradbrook
Although I’m not big on writing letters, I feel compelled to write to you (while it is still fresh on my mind) to thank you so much for the outstanding course at Oran Park today.

I’ve followed motor racing for most of my life, thanks to my father (whom you met on the day) who took all of us kids to the meetings at Oran Park and Bathurst.

To be quite honest I was overwhelmed to be driving a Formula Ford at near enough to racing speeds (I thought so!) at one of my favourite tracks, where I’ve seen many meetings over the past decades.

The professionalism that you and your colleagues displayed to everyone was great. We were treated like racing drivers. At no time did you take any nonsense, such as bad driving, and this was really appreciated.

I drive taxis for a living and, sure enough, I’ve seen idiots in my time. But to come out to Oran Park and not have to worry about hoons was a real pleasure.

There are a few bugs I have to iron out of my driving style, but I am looking forward to attending more of your courses in the not-too-distant future, and I’m sure to improve. Once again thanks to you, Peter and your colleagues for your patience, enthusiasm and encouragement to make my day a great one.
