Detailed course information
As
with most sports and activities the most difficult part is finding out
how to become involved. Our aim is to guide you every step of
the way. First, you need to find out if you can drive well enough to compete
and if you really do want to go further.
Our
2 day Racing/Rally Drivers’ course offers you 16 hours
of very intensive instruction. Either before or after the course you will need to apply
to the state office of the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport Ltd
(CAMS) for your racing or rally licence. Two forms need to be completed,
the first is a medical examination by a CAMS appointed doctor to certify
that you are fit to take part in competition (Racing and R5 Licence applicants
only). The second is the application form. You will need to become a member
of a CAMS affilliated Car Club.
The Racing/Rally Drivers' course includes the 'Observed Licence Test'
for both PC (Racing) and CR/NRJ/IR (Rally) licence applicants. This
course is acceptable to CAMS in lieu of the alternative 'OLTs' as defined
in the licence application forms.
The lecture on the rules for PC licence applicants is included in the
Racing Drivers' Course. The Rally-specific lecture for all rally licence
applicants is currently provided by CAMS
on-line.
